Only 30% of family businesses transition successfully to the second generation, and only 12% to the third. The single biggest predictor of successful transition is whether the next generation has been deliberately developed, given outside experience, and integrated into governance before they take ownership. This category is purpose-built to produce that outcome.
Earned credibility. Next-generation family members frequently struggle with a perception problem inside their own businesses — that they are there because of last name, not capability. Structured next-gen development gives them an externally credentialed pathway to credibility. The senior generation can hand over the keys with confidence; non-family employees can follow them with respect.
